NUEA Short Film Night at MBar Hollywood

7/29/11 – The Northwestern University Entertainment Alliance will be screening SECOND BEST at MBar in Hollywood 7:30pm, Thursday August 4! Special thanks to Puja Mohindra, star of SECOND BEST (and Northwestern alum) for making this happen!

LA Asian Pacific Film Fest

Breaking news! SECOND BEST is screening 7:30pm Saturday, April 30 at Laemmle’s Sunset 5 (8000 W. Sunset Blvd. LA 90046) as part of the 2011 Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival! Ticket information is available here.

We’ll be part of a program called OH, NOT IN MY FAMILY, a series of short films that also includes:

2011 Chicago South Asian Film Fest

7/25/11 – Fun news! SECOND BEST will be part of the 2011 Chicago South Asian Film Festival! Screening will be 2pm Saturday, Oct. 1 at the Chicago Cultural Center (78 E. Washington St., Chicago, IL). The screening is free, but RSVP on the festival’s website.

USC First Film Fest – April 2011

4/21/11 – After a successful screening at USC on April 16, SECOND BEST has been selected to screen at the Director’s Guild 7:30pm Tuesday, May 3 as a Fotokem Award Finalist! This means we were voted one of the top 6 films at USC this year. We’re now in competition for three cash prizes. Click HERE to RSVP for the screening and reception:

2010 ANGELUS AWARDS FINALIST!

SECOND BEST has placed as a finalist in the 2010 Angelus Student Awards!  Out of over 500 international submissions, SECOND BEST placed as a Top 10 finalist in the narrative film category.  The Angelus Festival is a prestigious, long-standing international student film competition created to “showcase and award emerging filmmakers and encourage them to continue creating visionary projects that honor the fundamental dignity of the human person”.
